Fabric of the Land series 2018 - ongoing
I'm fascinated by traces left by past civilisations which scar the landscape and the sense of their touch and sensibility on the artefacts they made. This work explores links between the fabric of the land and the disintegration of fragments of fabric found on archaeological excavations.
Last year I was fortunate to visit Sikkeborg Museum, Denmark, the last resting place of Tollund Man as part of a research project into the links between East Anglia and Denmark. The power of that experience is one of the factors underpinning recent work.
Cloth Map Drawings
Mixed Media, 50 x 50 cm, 1, 2, 3, 4.

Norwegian Series 2015 - 2017
This work is based on 'Hyttetur' which is Norwegian for cabin tour, but it means more than just the literal translation. Rather it describes a particular type of journey, hiking from one cabin to another collecting water from streams, heating the cabin, being self - sufficient far away from civilisation.
